Sometimes it is good to remember to hit "the pause button" in our busy lives and give ourselves a day to be still and silent. 

This one day retreat will include a combination of guided seated mindfulness meditations, mindful walking, mindful eating & tea drinking, deep relaxation, journaling and mindfulness teachings.

Join us for a day of mindfulness with one of Alberta’s most senior meditation teachers. Tracey will expertly help you to get back on track and strengthen your practice. 

$100 + gst  * price includes journal.

Please bring lunch, snacks & water for the day.

MINDFUL HIKING DAY September 29th

Co-facilitated by Tracey Delfs and Jenna Nodding (Certified Hiking Guide)

Would you like a day away in the mountains to hike, unplug from everyday life, immerse yourself in nature and re-connect with yourself?

If you answered ‘yes’, then we invite you to join us for a day of mindful hiking to awaken your senses and learn how to live more in the present moment with like-minded people.

The day will include mindful walking, mini-guided meditations and time for silent reflection.

We recognize that everyone is coming with his or her own unique experiences and fitness level and we feel confident that everyone will enjoy this trip.

Itinerary:

  • Meet the group in Canmore, AB at the downtown location of Beamer's Coffee shop for 8am
  • Closer to the date carpools may be coordinated if needed

Jenna Nodding has spent five months following the white blazes along the Appalachian Trail, two weeks hiking across Baffin Island, 15 days exploring the high altitude passes of the Nepalese Himalayas, and over 400 nights sleeping in her MSR hubba. She loves teaching others how to find and create their own adventure.

Since the late 90's Tracey Delfs has been traveling to Europe on a regular basis to study with world renowned Zen Master - Thich Nhat Hanh.  He is often referred by the media as "The Father of Mindfulness" and Oprah has labled him "the calmest man in the World". and has and has been teaching mindfulness meditation for over 15 years. She has also travelled and studied with other great mindfulness teachers including: Jon Kabat-Zinn (see photo below), Pema Chodron and Sharan Salzberg. Tracey shares wisdom from all of these great teachers when she teaches her mindfulness & meditation classes.

Tracey uses mindfulness and meditation practices taught by Thich Nhat Hanh and her other mindfulness teachers, such as Pema Chodron when she teacher her classes. 

Tracey has taught mindfulness and meditation to thousands of people since she began teaching meditation in 2000. She teaches regular mindfulness meditation classes in her community in Calgary at The Yoga Studio North, weekly workplace mindfulness classes at Shell Canada and Intact Insurance, as well as giving mindfulness presentations to a variety of different workplaces and at conferences. She use to work and travel with a the Canadian National Biathlon, Alpine and Freestyle Olympic teams teaching them meditation and yoga. Now that she has moved to Calgary and isn't travelling as much, she enjoys leading mindfulness & meditation retreats, doing private 1:1 meditation sessions and teaching classes within her community.
